Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County is Seeking Public Input on Proposed Development Code Amendments

To possibly update and add new requirements regarding fencing

To possibly update and add new requirements regarding fencing in Article 406 – Building Placement Standards, Section 406.50, Fences, Walls or Perimeter Planting;

And


To possibly remove Article 434 - Regional Development Standards within Cooperative Planning Areas and all of Washoe County AND Article 822, Provisions for Amendments to Local Master Plans and Zone Changes in Areas Subject to Cooperative Planning Under the Regional Plan Settlement Agreement

And 

To possibly amend Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code) within Article 505, to allow the construction and operation of Electronic Message Displays, which display only the current price of fuel, and no other information is able to be changed electronically, subject to the approval of an Administrative Review in accordance with WCC Section 110.809.

The Washoe County Community Services Department’s Planning and Building Division is hosting a public workshop regarding proposed amendments to Washoe County Code Chapter 110 (Development Code) relating to:
 
1.            Article 406 – Building Placement Standards, to update Section 406.50, Fences, Walls or Perimeter Planting., adding fencing standards for internal lots, fencing for emergency access easements or cul-de-sacs and specialty fencing.  Click HERE to access the Draft Ordinance, staff contact: Washoe County Planner Julee Olander, 775.328.3627 or jolander@washoecounty.us  and;

Washoe County staff will be available to discuss the proposed amendments from 5:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. Following public input, the amendments will be discussed by the Washoe County Planning Commission. The public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the October 6, 2020 Planning Commission meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
